For Matt Hendricks, the scare was enough to facilitate a change.
The Edmonton Oilers winger will be sporting a visor from now on after taking a stick near his eye in Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
Hendricks needed stitches to close up a gash on his right eye-lid and will be able to play Thursday when the Oilers host the Anaheim Ducks (7 p.m.) at Rexall Place.
“It was a scary incident off a face-off in the third (period),” Hendricks said. “A stick got me pretty good. It was a scary moment for me for a while there.
