Edmonton Oilers don't want to tarnish the finale planned for Rexall Place

The Edmonton Oilers need somebody to say what Mark Messier once said.

“We’ll win tonight.”

While we all realize there are few guarantees in life, and even fewer in sports, the Oilers, in their last ever game at Rexall Place, need to rise to the occasion.

Fans who’ve continued to fill that building when almost every other city in North America would have turned its back on what’s been happening here, deserve a night to remember.

And the over 150 former Oilers who’ll be there watching, Stanley Cup champions, Hall of Famers and role players whose sweat and blood created the tradition and memories that are being celebrated, deserve it, too.
