MONTREAL — Connor McDavid didn’t get to play in his own back yard when the Edmonton Oilers visited Toronto. He didn’t get to stand on the blue line for the spine-tingling national anthem in Chicago.
Didn’t get to play against Sidney Crosby. Or in Madison Square Garden. Or in Boston.
Didn’t go to the All Star game. Won’t have a shot at the Calder (although if he plays the next 30 games like he played the last two, that’s subject to change).
He’s missed a lot of really cool stuff because of that 37-game stretch on injured reserve.
