BALTIMORE - Eddie Olczyk had a bug when he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1987-91.
Not the kind of bug that laid him on his rear end. More of a fever. An unrelenting love for horse racing. Ever since he was introduced to racing as a teenager at Arlington Park near his hometown of Chicago, Olczyk has been involved in the sport in some capacity — mostly as an owner and handicapper — and it’s a love that carries through to this day.
This Saturday, Olczyk will be a handicapper/analyst for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Preakness Stakes here at Pimlico Race Course, the same gig he had two weeks ago when he worked the Kentucky Derby.
