ANAHEIM - - It was another case of so close, yet so far for the Winnipeg Jets.
With the stage set to perhaps pull even in this best-of-seven Pacific Division semi-final, the Jets were unable to hold a one-goal lead in the third period and fell 2-1 to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night at Honda Center.
Game 3 goes Monday night at the MTS Centre, where the Jets hope they might be able to find some of the third-period magic the Ducks have demonstrated in the first two games.
“It's playoff hockey. They still have the home-ice advantage and we still can go home and win two games and we're back even,” said Jets winger Mathieu Perreault, who chipped in an assist as he returned from a lower-body injury that threatened to keep him out of a third consecutive game.
