New Jersey's all-time scoring leader has missed the Devils' first 20 games this season, but Patrik Elias on Tuesday said he is ready to return.
The 39-year-old left-winger who has been sidelined with a knee injury, could make his season debut Wednesday when the Devils host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Elias practiced Monday on the third line with forwards Jacob Josefson and Stefan Matteau. He also took part in the Devils' power play.
If Elias does not skate Wednesday, he most assuredly will on Friday against the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey coach John Hynes said.
The Devils would have to make a roster move in order to activate Elias.
