USA Hockey named John Hynes of the New Jersey Devils as head coach of the U.S. Men's National Team that will compete in the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship next month.
The 2016 IIHF Men's World Championship will include teams from 16 nations on May 6-22 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.
Currently finishing his first year as an NHL head coach with a 37-36-8 record (one game remaining in the 2015-16 season), Hynes joined the Devils after six years with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. In his time behind the bench in Wilkes-Barre, including five seasons as head coach, he accumulated a 231-126-27 record.
