It’s a pretty safe bet Bob Hartley is coming back as the Flames coach.
That’s certainly his assumption, in the absence of official word from GM Brad Treliving,
It’s also a fairly solid bet he’ll do so without the cushion of a contract extension.
Those would be the right calls.
Based largely on his miraculous work a year earlier and the continued growth of several youngsters tasked with carrying the team, Hartley certainly deserves a return engagement with the team he’s guided for four years now.
Put aside the disappointment of finishing 20 points behind last year’s point total and there’s no question Flames fans and management should be excited about the direction this team is moving.
