VANCOUVER — Welcome to the second stop on the Ottawa Senators’ Garage Sale Tour.
Just like their western Canadian cousins in Edmonton, where the Senators were Tuesday, and in Calgary, where the Senators will be on Saturday, the story here is all about who the Vancouver Canucks will deal before Monday’s trade deadline.
After slip-sliding out of playoff contention in another disappointing season, the mood in Canuck Land is dismal, with tickets readily available at discount prices for Thursday’s game against the Senators.
Canucks general manager Jim Benning has already swung a couple of minor deals this week — Hunter Shinkaruk to Calgary for Markus Granlund and the acquisition of Philip Larsen from Edmonton for a fifth-round pick — but the bigger fish should move in the next few days.
