Darling has been unlikely hero for Blackhawks

CHICAGO - Any one of the inspirational plot lines that make up Scott Darling’s road to the Blackhawks is enough to qualify as the feel good story of the playoffs.

The fact he has about five of them going at once makes him a 6-foot-6, 232-pound Cinderella if there ever was one.

He’s a 26-year-old rookie.

He’s played for 14 teams in the last nine years, from the North Iowa Outlaws to the Mississippi RiverKings to the Florida Everblades to the Louisiana IceGators.

He was born in the Chicago area and cheered for the Blackhawks his whole life.
