One of Calgary’s most decorated hockey players officially retired Tuesday.
Craig Adams may not be a household name, nor did he make enough money to simply golf the rest of his life.
But with two Stanley Cups to his name, the 38-year-old leaves the NHL as one of the most successful players Calgary’s minor hockey system ever produced.
He’s also one of the game’s humblest.
“Winning two cups is important to me, but it’s not necessarily a measure of how good a player you are,” said Adams who won cups with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 and with the Pittsburgh Penguins in ’09.
