ST. LOUIS — David Backes is making the difficult task of redirecting pucks home look routine.
During these playoffs alone, Backes has tipped in three of his seven goals for the St. Louis Blues. Turns out part of that skill was honed on the diamond.
“First of all, he's a baseball player. (His) hand-eye coordination is a little bit different than other people,” said Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock, whose team holds a 1-0 advantage in the Western Conference final that resumes on Tuesday at Scottrade Center.
