BOSTON — Only an aw-shucks sort like Chad Johnson could downplay this type of puck-stopping performance.
“The guys are just doing a good job, and I’m getting results,” Johnson shrugged after backstopping the Calgary Flames to a 2-1 triumph over the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Friday. “I think when you get results, your game gets some attention, I guess.”
The guys are, indeed, doing a good job.
But the 30-year-old Johnson has been great.
Not far short of spectacular, really, during his past six starts, and none better than his 35-save performance against the Bruins.
