Isn’t the saying supposed to be ‘no good deed goes unpunished’?
For Carter Folk, no dirty deed goes unrewarded.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes winger waited anxiously for his penalty – alright, it was more borderline than dirty – to end when his teammates cleared the zone.
Folk jumped out of the sin bin, grabbed the loose puck and then beat Calgary Hitmen goaltender Cody Porter five-hole to give the ’Canes a 4-2 lead.
That would hold up as the final as the Hurricanes hit the 40-win mark (40-16-1) at the Saddledome on Sunday afternoon.
“I was talking to the guys in the box and I said ‘spring me, spring me,’ ” Folk said.
