Canucks sign Pedan, Grenier to one-year, two-way deals

VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Andrey Pedan and forward Alexandre Grenier to one-year, two-way contract extensions.

Pedan, 23, appeared in 13 games for the Canucks last season, averaging 3.1 hits per game.

The six-foot-five, 217-pound defenceman also skated in 45 games for the American Hockey League's Utica Comets, registering career-highs in games played, goals (seven), assists (14) and points (21).

Pedan has 50 points (15 goals, 35 assists) along with 258 penalty minutes in 129 AHL regular-season games over parts of four seasons.

Pedan, from Moscow, was acquired from the New York Islanders in exchange for Alexandre Mallet and a 2016 third-round selection on November 25, 2014.
