On a night the Maple Leafs organization honoured three of the franchise greats, the players used some old-time hockey to gain a point against their long-storied rival on Saturday.
With Dave Keon and family members of Tim Horton and Turk Broda looking on, the Leafs managed to score two goals against the Montreal Canadiens simply by going hard to the net.
Alas, it was all the Leafs, hard-pressed recently to get production of any kind, could muster. Lars Eller, the 10th shooter in a shootout, had the decisive goal as the Canadiens departed the Air Canada Centre with a 3-2 victory.
