TAMPA - Brandon Prust publicly said sorry to referee Brad Watson on Tuesday.
The Montreal Canadiens forward went on a post-game rant against Watson following the Canadiens’ 6-2 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 2, telling reporters that Watson “called me every name in the book, called me a piece of you-know-what, a mother-f’er, coward” and that Watson “tried to play God” during the game.
“First off, I would like to apologize to Brad Watson and the rest of the officials in the NHL,” Prust said to a large scrum of media in the Canadiens’ dressing room at Amalie Arena following practice.
