Canadiens go to 8-0-0 by thumping Sabres

BUFFALO - Right wingers Brendan Gallagher and Dale Weise scored twice to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 7-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.

Centre Torrey Mitchell, left winger Max Pacioretty and defenseman Andrei Markov also scored for the Canadiens, who improved to 8-0. Goalie Mike Condon made 33 saves.

Left winger Matt Moulson and centre Ryan O'Reilly scored for the Sabres (2-5). Goalie Chad Johnson made 19 saves.

Weise opened the scoring with 5:25 remaining in the first period on a flawless two-on-one rush with P.K. Subban. After a quick pass from Weise to Subban, the defenseman returned the favor and Weise had an open net for his second goal of the season.
