It started as a meaningless hockey tournament that the NHL planned instead of the All-Star game. No stakes. No rationale. Just 4 Nations and their best NHL players.
It ended so much more.
Canadians care about our pride, our sovereignty, and sometimes our hockey. Although the majority of Canadians are not hockey fanatics, most folks understood that the 4 Nations tournament evolved into more than just a mean nothing game. The current USA administration is not merely wreaking havoc around the globe, but pointing a lot of undue agression against–of all nations–Canada.
Sure, we all know it’s just a game, but a loss would’ve deflated cultural morale.
