PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Sidney Crosby had exactly the same scoring line as he did against Latvia the only time he previously played in the IIHF World Championship, back in 2006 in Riga.
One goal. One assist.
But this wasn’t exactly the same game.
For starters Canada only managed to win this one 6-1, not 11-0.
And Crosby’s goal was one to remember.
He scored high glove side with only 23 seconds remaining in the game.
No big deal about that.
But it was on a penalty shot.
“I don’t think I’ve ever scored one in the NHL let alone in the world championships or the Olympics either,” he said.
