OTTAWA — Mark Stone didn’t make the trek to Beantown.
Instead, he stayed home to rest, relax and, hopefully, be ready for his next challenge.
The Senators winger hasn’t played since he got hit by Dustin Byfuglien on March 29 in Winnipeg and he won’t be in the lineup for the club’s final game against the Boston Bruins Saturday afternoon at the TD Garden, but he may not have suited up for the final time this season.
Stone, who didn’t suffer a head injury but had plenty of soreness after the hit, confirmed to Postmedia on Friday he’s been contacted by officials from Team Canada checking on his health for the world championship.
