Calgary squad overcomes loss of Adam Tambellini with grit & a timely strike

MEDICINE HAT — So, how do you replace the playoffs’ leading scorer?

Grind it out, lean heavily on your goaltender and wait for a break.

With Calgary Hitmen sniper Adam Tambellini sidelined with an undisclosed injury, the Central Division champions struggled to generate any offence Wednesday night at The Arena.

But rookie winger Jordy Stallard scored the overtime winner to give the Hitmen a 2-1 victory in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinal.

Hitmen over-ager Connor Rankin, who saw his four-game points streak come to an end, said it was difficult without the club’s top gun.
