The Calgary Inferno won’t have long to savour their first-round victory over the Toronto Furies.
After losing 5-2 on Friday, the Inferno responded with back-to-back 3-1 victories Saturday and Sunday over the Furies to advance to the Clarkson Cup final against Les Canadiennes de Montreal on March 5 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.
“They’re actually very excited,” said Inferno coach Scott Reid of the atmosphere at the Carstairs Memorial Arena following Sunday’s series-clinching triumph. “We’ve got a few days to let it soak in after a well-deserved victory and a well-deserved feeling.
“We’ll just enjoy it for a couple days and then we’ve got to get ourselves going again and start all over.
