Brianne Jenner and her Calgary Inferno teammates have had almost seven months to savour their Clarkson Cup victory over Les Canadiennes de Montreal in Ottawa last March.
This weekend, they get back to work as they kick off the 2016-17 Canadian Women’s Hockey League season with a pair of home games against the Brampton Thunder.
“I guess tomorrow, she’s no longer ours and it’s our turn to try and defend her,” said Jenner on Friday in regards to the trophy she and her teammates nicknamed Clarkie. “We got to have Clarkie for quite a bit of the summer and we took her to different events.
