It was Keegan Kanzig’s turn to sign post-game autographs.
And the Calgary Hitmen defenceman made sure his was a signature worth seeking.
The mammoth Calgary Flames draft pick recorded the first two-goal game of his WHL career to help the Hitmen trim the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-4 Wednesday night at the Dome.
“Maybe there will be a bigger lineup now, who knows,” Kanzig quipped after the Hitmen (25-13-2) moved into a first-place tie atop the Eastern Conference standings alongside the ’Canes (26-12-0).
Jakob Stukel scored two of his squad’s three powerplay markers on the night, Layne Bensmiller added a single and Jake Bean scored shorthanded into an empty net as the Hitmen overcame a 4-2 deficit to improve to 16-3-1 in their last 20 outings.
