Dawson Martin made sure his souvenir puck was a keeper.
If you’re going to score your long-awaited first career WHL goal, you might as well make it a beauty.
And why not a game-winner to boot.
“I was actually waiting for (that scenario),” the Calgary Hitmen rookie quipped after his third-period goal held up as the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday.
“It was pretty special to score an important goal like that, especially for your first one.”
Martin took a short pass from Carsen Twarynski and beat ’Canes starter Jayden Sittler to the glove side for his first goal in his 51st game.
