The Calgary Hitmen winger out-raced Rebels goaltender Lasse Peterson to a loose puck just inside the Red Deer blue-line, eluded the sprawling ’tender and deposited the sudden death winner into the vacated cage.
“I was pretty tired at the end of that one,” Malenstyn said after scoring his second of the night to give the Hitmen a 3-2 win over the Rebels at the Saddledome. “So I was looking forward to it once he started coming out of the net.
