Two weeks ago, Jackson Houck was starting to wonder if he’d ever score again.
Now, everything the Calgary Hitmen overager touches turns to gold.
The skilled centre scored a hat-trick — all three coming on the powerplay — as the Hitmen stomped the Swift Current Broncos 6-2 Saturday at the Saddledome.
Houck threw the 800-lb. gorilla off his back after forcing overtime with a late goal last weekend against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
It was his first goal since Nov. 6, snapping a 13-game goal-less drought.
Those days are long gone.
“Once you get that confidence back to score, I’ve been around long enough to know it comes around,” Houck said after scoring all three of his goals from the top of the blue paint.
