Marek Hrivik has been snake-bitten with injuries since he arrived with the Calgary Flames organization. Many expected him to make the Flames with a good preseason this year, but unfortunately he was injured and started the season on the injured reserve list as Calgary signed Tanner Glass. Today, Hrivik was placed on waivers to stockton.
Much like one cannot blame Hrivik for his injuries, one cannot blame the Flames for attempting to send him back down. While it’s something that plagues the sport (and as some have argued this team), Hockey shouldn’t be a meritocracy where something is given rather than earned.
