On the evening of April 5, 2003, Matt Stajan was getting ready to make his NHL debut alongside the likes of Mats Sundin, Alex Mogilny, Tie Domi and Gary Roberts.
That was 800 games ago.
"It's quite the accomplishment," said Calgary Flames teammate Micheal Ferland, who was part of Stajan's 800th NHL game, a thrilling overtime win over the Boston Bruins on Friday. "I remember watching him when I was a young kid when he was playing in Toronto and I remember he used to be one of my favourite players, and now I get the opportunity to play with him.
