The entire Scotiabank Saddledome exhaled a sigh of relief on Friday morning when TJ Brodie stepped on the ice.
It was a nerve wracking 48 hours for the club, waiting to see if the blueliner was seriously injured — or not — following an injury scare on Wednesday night.
Brodie blocked a hard slap shot against the Carolina Hurricanes — a near point-blank slap-shot from all-star defenceman Justin Faulk right after the Flames had killed off a penalty in the second period of Wednesday’s 4-1 win on home ice.
However, the Flames medical staff ran tests Thursday, and good news deemed Brodie good to go Friday.
