ANAHEIM — Jonas Hiller’s return to Anaheim played out more like a Hitchcock horror story than a feel-good Disney flick.
Hiller, who was on the Ducks’ payroll for the past seven seasons, was yanked early in the second period of Thursday’s 6-1 rout after surrendering three goals on 14 shots against his old pals in Game 1.
It could have been worse for the Calgary Flames’ puck-stopper, who also had three shots ring the iron behind him before getting the hook after just 22:13 of action.
“We definitely didn’t play the way we wanted and I think everybody has to get better, me included,” Hiller said.
