The Flames made a small move today in signing defenceman Matt Bartkowski to a PTO (Pro-Tryout Offer). Bartkowski is 28 years old and a Pittsburgh native. If you’re wondering why you kind of recognize the name, he was a piece of the Bruins package that they offered for Jarome Iginla in the trade that never came to fruition.
Bartkowski most recently played in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks last season, racking up 6 goals and 12 assists in 80 games. The only other NHL team he’s been on is the Bruins.
