First, Johnny Gaudreau found himself set up by a gem of an assist from the New York Rangers defense, and then Mason Raymond was on-hand almost immediately after to put the Calgary Flames 2-1 up.
The Calgary Flames up until that point had been held scoreless by Antti Raanta in the Rangers net.
It was a fair reward for a grinding effort in the second period by the Calgary Flames; out-shooting their opposition ten to five and showing a physical poresence when required of them.
Gaudreau’s goal marks his eleventh of the season and continues his current point-scoring streak; whilst it’s not on the scale of Patrick Kane yet, it’s certainly on the up for the youngster in his sophomore year with the Calgary Flames.
