WASHINGTON -- Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin might have the NHL's hardest shot.
Calgary Flames rookie Sam Bennett was certain it would hurt more if this one didn't hit him.
With about six minutes remaining Friday in what would turn out to be a 3-2 overtime victory for the Flames at Verizon Center, Bennett sacrificed his body to block Ovechkin's offering.
"I think that was my guy, so I was just happy to get in front of that," Bennett said. "Luckily, that one didn't get me in a bad spot. It felt OK."
Lately, Bennett has been more than OK for the Flames.
