Johnny Gaudreau's name is on the ballot.
A lot of folks figure his name will eventually be engraved on the Calder Trophy, too.
The Calgary Flames' star-in-the-making was announced Thursday as one of three candidates for the NHL's rookie-of-the-year honours.
Florida Panthers defenceman Aaron Ekblad and Ottawa Senators sharpshooter Mark Stone are also on the Calder Trophy short-list.
“It’s exciting for me,” Gaudreau said in a statement on the team website. “I worked all year long to try to help the team as much as possible. I played with a lot of really talented players in this locker room and that really helped me.
