What an exciting year it’s been for the undrafted forward. After playing for Union College in the NCAA for three seasons, Spencer Foo was found in the middle between four NHL teams. Two years ago, the free-agent had no NHL teams offer contracts. Then a year later, four showed heavy interest for the highly touted Hobey Baker finalist. And while he grew up in Edmonton, who also offered him a contract, he chose their rivals, the Calgary Flames.
Opting out of playing in his final season for Union College, he went pro and played a season with the Stockton Heat.
