As we get closer to the start of the regular season, the Flames have placed three players on waivers. Defenceman Oliver Klyington and forwards Zac Rinaldo and Derek Ryan all received the news today and all reportedly cleared waivers.
The Kylington news is interesting from the standpoint that it was thought he’d compete for, at minimum, the final or extra defenceman spot, but it appears the Flames have other plans. As of now, Calgary has Mark Giordano, Noah Hanifin, Rasmus Andersson, Juuso Valimaki, Chris Tanev and Nikita Nesterov to man the blue line. This means Kylington will spend his time in either Stockton or potentially being traded.
