Obviously, the Calgary Flames have to start winning games on the road if they are to have any chance at staying relevant this season.
To do that they’re going have to shore up their most obvious shortcoming — special teams.
Otherwise, the Flames may be well on their way to making some rather embarrassing history.
The Flames have been so bad they currently rank last in the NHL in both power play and penalty kill efficiency.
In fact, it’s not even close in either category.
To show you how rare such a feat is, consider only 12 teams since expansion in 1968 have finished the season as the worst in both categories.
