Calgary Flames Hire Former Coyotes GM Don Maloney as Pro Scout

The Calgary Flames continue to add experienced hockey people to the organization. Today, they hired Don Maloney as a pro scout. Maloney spent the past 9 seasons as General Manager for the Arizona Coyotes before the organization replaced him with 26-year-old John Chayka.

Current Flames General Manager Brad Treliving worked under Don Maloney as an Assistant General Manager when he was with the Coyotes, so there is some familiarity there. Adding Maloney to an organization that already includes Brad Treliving and Brian Burke, makes for a total of 3 men in the organization who have been NHL General Managers at various points of their careers.
