During stints with the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings, one of his biggest fans — his grandmother, Olga — apparently didn’t even update her jersey collection.
“His 1000th game ceremony, I got to go (to Los Angeles) and present Robyn with a picture from the Calgary Flames,” recalled Regehr’s longtime teammate, Craig Conroy, during Monday’s welcome-home-of-sorts at the Saddledome.
“I’m on the ice and you see the silver and purple everywhere, and I turn around and all of a sudden here comes a Flames jersey, and I’m like, ‘I think that’s Robyn’s grandmother.
