Training camp is two weeks away and if Micheal Ferland doesn’t have a deal in place, he won’t be on the ice with the Calgary Flames.
Problem being, the team appears no closer to a contract with the restricted free-agent left winger, the last of the team’s players without a deal.
“Just money and term, that’s all,” GM Brad Treliving said of what’s holding up a contract. “We’ll bang away. We haven’t been able to find something that both sides nod on yet, but we’ve still got some time.”
Ferland, 23, played in 26 NHL regular-season games last season, in which he collected two goals and five points, before having something of a breakout playoffs, in which he collected three goals and five points in nine second-season clashes.
