DALLAS — The Canada Food Guide says an average adult needs 2,500 calories per day.
On game days, Joe Colborne’s personal food guide pushes that number to 6,000.
Otherwise the Calgary Flames forward will be angry at the scale in a way most of us can’t imagine.
“By the end of the day it’s six or seven meals I’ve thrown back, and then, if I haven’t eaten enough, I’m down three pounds,” Colborne said. “It can be frustrating.”
He’s not kidding.
When the Flames suit up for action at the Saddledome, Colborne arrives to the rink for breakfast prior to the morning skate.
