The Calgary Flames’ coaching search is almost over.
“We are much closer to the end than we are the beginning, that’s for sure,” said general manager Brad Treliving. “No announcements (Monday), but we’re getting there.”
Treliving has been on the hunt for a new head coach since dismissing Bob Hartley — and associate coach Jacques Cloutier — on May 3.
In a radio interview with Sportsnet 960 The Fan on Monday, he revealed the hire would be made before the NHL Draft, which is slated for June 24-25.
When asked if he has made up his mind on his personal choice for the next bench boss, he answered simply, ‘Yes.
