Bob Hartley had a hunch.
Yes, Karri Ramo had allowed three goals in Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes and was pulled in favour of Jonas Hiller.
But knowing how well Ramo had performed last time the team was at the American Airlines Center — a 3-1 win back on Dec. 17 — he went with No. 31 again.
And he was right.
Monday’s 2-1 loss would have been a lot different if it hadn’t been for his 28-save performance in the Stars’ first victory in three tries against Calgary this season.
Otherwise, the Flames gave it an honest effort.
