Despite reports and rumours circulating early this week, the Calgary Flames have yet to announce a head coach.
The hiring process, led by general manager Brad Treliving, has been ongoing for over six weeks as the team prepares to head into next weekend’s National Hockey League draft in Buffalo.
Glen Gulutzan, however, is reported to be the front-runner for the position and reports out of Vancouver indicate that a decision is expected this week.
Gulutzan, who has been an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks for the past three campaigns, would be getting his second shot as an NHL boss after coaching the Dallas Stars for two seasons (2011-13).
