Calgary Flames centre Sam Bennett looks to end season strong after returning from injury

As far as National Hockey League campaigns go, Sam Bennett has nothing to compare 2015-16 to.

Last year, technically his rookie season, he was out for most of the year as he recovered from shoulder surgery and was dispatched back to his Ontario Hockey League team the Kingston Frontenacs. His NHL experience amounted to one regular season game at the end of year and 11 playoff games.

But this year has been, well, a roller coaster.

“Definitely some ups and downs,” Bennett agreed after Sunday’s morning skate. “It’s my first year in the league and I think you expect that a little bit.
