Bruins make the right decision by not moving Eriksson

The Boston Bruins made a difficult choice with Loui Eriksson but it was the right decision.

Instead of sending him packing, they showed patience and kept him.

There was no shortage of offers for the veteran winger and the Bruins could have easily made a trade to a Western Conference team that would have helped Boston down the road, but in the end GM Don Sweeney decided the most prudent move was to keep Eriksson in the fold.

It wouldn’t have made sense to move him especially with the Bruins in a playoff race.

Eriksson has been one of the club’s best players and he might be demanding a deal in the six-year, $36-million range, but the possibility exists the two sides could still get a deal in place before July 1.
