Brooks Bandits beat Camrose Kodiaks 5-1 to close out series in four games

The Brooks Bandits booked their trip to the AJHL final.

Dylan McCrory and Cale Makar had a goal and an assist apiece as the Bandits swept the Camrose Kodiaks with a 5-1 victory in Game 4 of the South Division final.

Joe O’Connor, Jared Cockreil and Derek Lodermeier also scored as the Bandits improved to 8-0 in the post-season.

Kodiaks sniper Cam Gotaas’ goal with 1:59 remaining in the third period was the lone blemish on Brooks goaltender Garret Hughson’s record.

It also prevented Hughson from posting his league-record fifth shutout of the playoffs.

The Bandits don’t know who they will face in the final after the Lloydminster Bobcats staved off elimination Tuesday night with a 6-1 home-ice win over the Spruce Grove Saints.
