Cody Porter made the most of his shot at redemption on Sunday.
The day after allowing six goals on 25 shots in a 6-2 loss to the Kelowna Rockets, Porter bounced back with a much better effort as he made 33 saves to backstop his Calgary Hitmen to a 3-2 win over the Kootenay Ice in front of 6,562 fans at the Saddledome.
“For both myself and the team, we knew that it was an unacceptable effort,” said Porter of Saturday’s disappointing performance on home ice. “When we represent this organization, especially at home, we need to give our best and I didn’t think we gave our best yesterday.
